Saskatoon, Sask., July 7, 2022 – A special focus on AgTech at Ag in Motion will help create new conversations and connections as farmers return to the in-person outdoor farm expo on July 19-21, 2022.

“Those keen on learning how technology is shaping the future of agriculture can hear about it and see it for themselves right on the show grounds,” says Rob O’Connor, Ag in Motion show director. “We are finding opportunities to connect startup companies, industry and farmers to provide special insights into what’s rapidly changing in the agricultural technology space.”

New this year is the AgTech Breakfast on July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. that offers an opportunity for AgTech startups and farmers to network and discuss the latest innovation and technology in agriculture. Through this event, farmers can help inform future innovation and become collaborative partners on solutions for the industry.
As of July 6, fifteen AgTech startups have stepped on board for this event to share product pitches and give farmers a chance to hear first-hand how solutions are being addressed through new technology. The AgTech Breakfast is located in the Knowledge Tent, with the new exhibit space AgTech Alley just outside to give new startup companies a place at Ag in Motion to make meaningful connections at the show. Companies featured include ChrysaLabs, FarmSimple Solutions, Grain Discovery, Lucent Biosciences, OneCup AI and Ukko Agro.

An exciting opportunity to see AgTech in action in the field is through the Demonstration Research Tour hosted by the team at Discovery Farm Langham. The tour includes a first-hand look at how Discovery Farm partners are pushing the limits of conventional agriculture technology. Tours are held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on each day of Ag in Motion. See a full list of partners featured on the tour here.

The conversation of AgTech continues during the Driving Decisions Speaker Series featuring highlights from Dr. Joy Agnew of Olds College speaking on the Pan-Canadian Smart Farm Network, and Andrew Van Os and Kelly Bromm of MNP speaking on improving farm profitability through data.

“We want to create a space where AgTech is highlighted and farmers leave with new insights and having provided their input to the developers,” says O’Connor. “There is so much to unpack when it comes to adopting new technologies and we are excited to bring these new opportunities to our show.”
Ag in Motion takes place at Discovery Farm Langham, located just 15 minutes northwest of Saskatoon, Sask. and is Western Canada’s largest outdoor farm expo with over 500 exhibitors and 100 acres to explore. Ag in Motion tickets and more details on what is happening can be found at aginmotion.ca.
