Winnipeg, MB – Glacier FarmMedia leadership is proud to announce Robin Booker as the new Editor of The Western Producer. Robin’s role of Editor at The Western Producer will encompass several key responsibilities aimed to deliver high-quality journalism that informs, educates, and engages with farmers and the agricultural community.

With over a decade of farm journalism under his belt, including his recent role as Farm Management Editor, Robin’s deep roots in agriculture and unwavering commitment to connecting with farmers in Western Canada make him the ideal candidate to lead our publication.

Robin grew up on a mixed farm near Roblin, Manitoba, that he now owns and resides at during the summer months. And though he hasn’t put a crop in for a decade, he used to run the property as a small grain farm.

He later moved to Edmonton, where he earned an honours degree in sociology from the University of Alberta. When he decided to wind down his work as a treatment worker for a child and family service agency in Manitoba, he pursued a degree in journalism from the University of Regina.

Robin’s dedication to the agriculture community and understanding of farming challenges will not only enrich his editorial vision for The Western Producer, but it will also help us in achieving our strategic mission for the publication: to be a valuable asset for every farm operation, for every member of a farm family.

To celebrate his role as the new Editor, Robin will be hosting an exciting webinar series to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Western Producer, where we asked 100 farmers, 100 questions on key topics that will inform the next 100 years of Western Canadian agriculture. He will share farmer feedback and host interactive discussions on issues that matter, not only today – and for the next 100 years.
