Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that offers advertisers many ways to reach and connect with farmers. Through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights, GFM can offer valuable solutions to meet the needs of advertisers.
This role is an individual contributor who is part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. In this role, reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, the primary responsibility is to nurture and sustain solid relationships with key clients by utilizing Glacier FarmMedia’s resources and products to develop and implement strategic solutions to achieve key clients’ long-term goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable to develop, maintain and grow print and digital advertising revenue, and other sales opportunities, across GFM’s entire portfolio of products from an assigned account list.
- Accountable to achieve annual sales targets and stay within the expense budget assigned by manager.
- Accountable to make sales calls and presentations to key company decision makers.
- Responsible to position each of GFM’s product offerings in order to find the best product mix that meets the goals of your key accounts and grow their business.
- Responsible to build effective multi-media plans for clients with a focus on ROI
- Responsible to establish and maintain strong business relationships with prospective and existing partners while providing a best-in-class standard of support and service.
- Responsible to conduct needs assessments in the effort to identify sales opportunities through targeting, researching, and developing new clients.
- Responsible to track and maintain client and sales information through the account files in the CRM system.
- Responsible to record detailed sales into Naviga in a time sensitive and accurate fashion.
- Develop market intelligence and knowledge of competition, options, and industry trends to better serve clients.
- Participate and network at industry tradeshows and conferences with a detailed sales plan by client.
- Support by providing knowledge transfer of current sales and customer activities to Regional Sales team and management through reports, meetings, and other communications channels.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience
- Proven track record in agricultural sales in print and digital media and multi-media packages
- Ability to collaborate with key company decision makers.
- Ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Skilled in identifying leads and potential clients.
- Ability to have in depth conversations around a client’s business in order to identify business needs.
- Strategic thinker with the capability to devise and execute effective sales strategies.
- Proficient in developing business plans and presentations to pitch to clients.
- Excellent communication fostering collaboration among clients, teams, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships through proactive networking.
- Committed to best-in-class service for internal and external clients.
Working Conditions
- Remote role based in a home office with the requirement to call on customers. Successful candidate will be based in Western Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba)
- This is a position that is exempt from claiming overtime. The role is trusted with substantial control over their hours to generate the results required by this job description. This role is expected to work the hours necessary to achieve the results compensated for by the annual salary.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required to support local travel for customer meetings and industry conferences.
