These Subscriber Terms and Conditions (“Subscriber Terms”) govern the subscription services provided by Glacier FarmMedia Limited Partnership and as agent for Western Producer Publications Limited Partnership (“we”, “us, or “our”) and outline your (“subscriber”, “you” or “your”) rights and responsibilities with respect to the any content, publications/issues, information, or other materials made available through the subscription services (collectively, the “Services”). By subscribing to the Services, you agree to be bound by these Subscriber Terms.
What does it mean to have a subscription?
A subscription is your payment for a service. It entitles you to receive content that our team of journalists create, curate and compile in printed and/or digital formats, delivered by mail or email. There are various types of publications (newspapers, magazines, e-newsletters), each focusing on the issues and events that shape rural Canadian communities or diving deeper into farm management topics. Our publications are developed by an integrated media group, following the ethical guidelines of the Canadian Association of Journalists.
The Services we provide may evolve
From time to time, we may make changes to our Services, including to change the publication schedule and/or the number of issues per year based on business factors (including subscriber feedback) and we will notify you of such changes. Your subscription entitles you only to access to the subscription content that is created and made available to you from time to time and the number of issues may vary.
Changes in the Services do not extend the term of your subscription and no refunds will be provided in connection with changes. Subscribers acknowledge that the Services and our websites may from time to time be disrupted, unavailable or inaccessible, such as due to periodic maintenance or repairs. No refunds or compensation will be provided due to any such disruption.
If you have a print subscription and we are unable to deliver it for any reason, we reserve the right to provide you access to the applicable digital edition(s) in full substitution. Missed deliveries should be reported to our Customer Service team immediately.
Monthly & Annual Subscription Plans
You have the option to sign up for a subscription service that is paid once a month on a monthly billing cycle (monthly subscription plans). This monthly plan must be paid by credit card and will automatically renew each month until such time as it is cancelled.
We also offer an annual one-year term that is paid in advance for 12 month billing cycle (annual subscription plans). This annual plan must be paid by credit card and will automatically renew each year until such time as it is cancelled.
You have the right to cancel your services within 14 days of purchase. This is considered the trial period and cancellation before the expiration of the trial period will result in a full refund of your monthly subscription plan payment or annual subscription plan payment. There are no refunds after the trial period has expired.
If you choose to cancel your services after the expiration of your trial period, you must notify our Customer Service team. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current monthly or annual billing cycle. There are no refunds. You will have access to subscription services until the end of your monthly or annual billing cycle.
Subscriptions Paid by Cheque
If you would prefer to pay by cheque, please contact our Customer Service team to make those arrangements. You can provide a cheque to pay for one annual subscription plan or multiple annual subscriptions (each one automatically renewing after each other.
There are no refunds provided for subscription plans purchased by cheque. You may call to cancel your subscription if you no longer wish to receive it but no refunds will be provided for any remaining annual subscription plans.
Subscriptions as a Gift
You may choose to make a purchase of subscription services as a gift to another person or organization. These terms and conditions apply to all gift purchases. In the event that the person or organization receiving the gift notifies us that they no longer wish to receive the subscription by mail or digital delivery, we will remove them from our lists at their request. No notice of their decision or refunds will be issued to you as the purchaser of the gift but we will cancel any future monthly or annual subscription credit card payments after the end of the billing cycle.
In the Case of Death of a Subscriber
If an Executor of an Estate contacts us to notify us of your death, we will cancel your subscription services immediately and note your death in our database so your family members are not contacted about renewals or new offers.
There are no refunds issued for the balance of any monthly or annual subscriptions. Your Estate may request that we transfer the remainder of your annual subscription to another person or entity or ask us to send any remaining issues to an organization like a nursing home or library for others to enjoy.
If you made a cheque payment and purchased multiple annual subscription plans that have not started, we can issue a refund to your Estate only for any annual subscription plans that have not started. Proof of death documentation may be requested. Please allow 10-12 weeks for processing.
Fees & Billing
No cash payments will be accepted.
By subscribing to the Services, you agree to pay the subscription fees in effect for the Services selected at the time of your subscription. We reserve the right to increase our fees for the Services upon reasonable notice to you.
Subscribers are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate billing and delivery information. You must contact us with any changes to your billing or delivery information to limit interruptions in the Services.
We want your feedback
Our Services are based on the feedback we receive from subscribers like you and we hope you will provide feedback and input into our content and subscription services. Please share your feedback with our Customer Service team or you may provide a Letter to the Editor or Oped submission to the Editor of our publications.
Contacting you about other opportunities
By subscribing to our services, you may become entitled to participate in online or in-person events. From time to time, you may become eligible for additional products, add-ons or upgrades to the subscription services that you receive. We will use your contact information to contact you to learn about what you want and need – but we will not share your contact information with a third party. Your personal information will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Use of Websites and Digital Services
The use of our websites are governed by our Website Terms of Use. Subscribers are responsible for all usage and activity of the subscription account, including use of the account by any third party authorized by you. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any electronic account information and passwords. Unauthorized access to accounts should be reported to our Customer Service team immediately.
Disclaimers
Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. Services are provided to you on an “as is” and “as available” basis without representations, guarantees or warranties of any kind or nature. We do not represent or warrant that the Services will be up-to-date, uninterrupted or error-free.
The Services may include content of or references to third party entities, such as links to external websites, content, or advertisements. We do not control, endorse, or make any representations regarding third party websites, content, products, services, or information of any kind (“Third Party Materials”). We will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any Third Party Materials.
The Services are provided for general information, educational and entertainment purposes only. We do not represent, warrant, or endorse the quality, reliability or accuracy of any advice, opinion, statement, advertisement, or other information provided through the Services. By subscribing to our Services, you agree to release and hold us harmless from any and all liability arising from your subscription and use of the Services, including, without limitation, your reliance on any advice, opinion, statement, advertisement, or other information provided through the Services, including Third Party Materials.
Our publications contain advertisements, and exposure to such advertisements is a condition of your access to the Services.
General
The content provided through our Services is protected by copyright laws. Any reproduction, adaptation, or distribution of the content without prior written consent is prohibited. It is your responsibility to review our Copyright Notice.
We may change these Subscriber Terms at any time by notifying you by email or by updating the date above after “Last Updated On”. Such changes become effective immediately upon posting.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws applicable therein.
